Plays on set top but not on the burner itself - Club CDFreaks

Hi, I am ripping my DVDs using DVDShrink 3.2 and a Lite-On SOHW-1633S and Nero to burn back to TDK +R media.

The backups play well on my older set top DVD player but not at all in the DVD burner I burned them with! The originals DO play OK in the burner, though.

Any ideas?

This happens occasionally - it often means that the hardware for reading has broken down, while the hardware for writing is still good.

Try the burned discs in a variety of drives and make sure that it's just the 1 drive affected. Try putting the drive into another machine and see if the same thing happens. If so, your drive is probably cooked.
