| Menu not working I copied "Chicago" to a Maxell DVD-R disc with my NEC reader/writer in my Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop. When I played the copied disc in my Marantz player, there were subtitles for the hearing impaired, which I could not disable because I had de-authored the menu and all extra features to fit the movie on one disc. So, I tried again, this time retaining the menu, but now the menu doesn't work at all. I can't select Setups or skip chapters or anything. (Fortunately, the subtitles for the hearing impaired somehow had been disabled.) The menu screen finally closes on its own after maybe a minute, but then the disc skips through every chapter before finally starting the movie, which plays flawlessly. I did an advanced search of titles in this forum using "menu problem" as the search terms and got 11 hits, but none addressed my specific problem. I use DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink 3.2. I've copied a couple of other movies that played fine. Suggestions on what I did wrong with the menu? I still have "Chicago" stored on my hard drive, so I assume I don't have to rerun the decrypter. Much thanks. ![]() |

| Re: Menu not working Yo- Suggest that you delete all the temp files that DVDshrink created and start over from scratch - being careful in what you deselect from the left hand side before you start the copy process - I save the movie and menus and delete the extras and the audio and languages that I know I am not going to use- Mike

| Re: Menu not working Thanks for the suggestion. I already had done what you advised, so I'm at a loss what to try next. The original DVD was from the library, and I had to return it. So, I'm stuck with my first copy with the frozen menu, etc. that I described in my first posting. So it goes. ![]() |
