It would help if you say what software you use to make menu and how you prepare your pictures.
Standard video size is as troy512 is showing.
If you prepare your picture in other software, like Photoshop, you have to crop it to either 4:3 or 16:9 ratio, to see how it will come out in background.

Oops, sorry. I'm using convertxtodvd. No real preparation with the image as such, just select wallpaper from folder.

Also, what would be the exact Dimensions - Width and Height?

Dimension of the picture does not matter as long as it is in proportion 4:3 or 16:9 width to height.
I do not know convertxtodvd, but form there web site it is converting software, not authoring so I think you are talking about something other than picture for menu.

I'll make life easier for you dude since everyone is just confusing you.

If the DVD your making is 4:3 ratio (not many are these days) then make your background image 800x600 (800 wide x 600 height)

If your DVD is WIDESCREEN 16:9 then make it 848x480 (thats 848 width)
