Re: MagicISO for (2) Disc backup

Thanks for the direction rolling56

Never used ImgBurn, what are my "off of jumpstreet" selections i need to
make on/in ImgBurn to backup a single iso file onto 2-blank cd media?

Am i going about this the wrong way, should i perhaps use ISOBuster to
dissect my one single iso file and turn the single iso into 2 parts, effectively
chopping my iso in half, then burn one half to one cd, and the other half to a
second cd-?? or is that just bad technique.

Re: MagicISO for (2) Disc backup

What is it that you are splitting. Video or Data?

Do you want to store the information on both disk, and then at a later date combine the information from both disks to use?

More information would be nice.

Re: MagicISO for (2) Disc backup

platinumsword

appreciate your input. i apologize been very busy or id have reposted.

well if im correct on venacular im trying to "backup" a +700MB data

image file, a ISO which i have on my c:/drive in .iso format. I want to

burn the iso onto blank cd-r media. -ONE CD-r will not accomodate the

^+700MB size of the before mentioned .iso.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay how do i backup a +700MB .ISO, using CDR media and MagicISO software-??

THAT IS A EXPANDED VERSION OF THE SCENARIO I WANT TO ACCOMODATE

YES i want to store the image data file on disc...( im assuming

maybe even incorrectly that i need to use 2 CDR media)

The input file is over 700MB on the .iso so doesnt that

mean 2-CDR will be needed to "backup" the .iso??

completed the .iso file will become a bootable full version

of for example Half(XXX)LIFE for windows pc.

are you getting the drift my friend?

Re: MagicISO for (2) Disc backup

this can only work if you put the ISO onto 1 disc!

There is no problem "Backing up" a ISO 700+ mb onto one CD. You can use cdrecord and set the padsize=63s -pad -dao and let it burn.
Just burnt one this afternoon and playing the game now

Re: MagicISO for (2) Disc backup

Install the free archiving program 7-zip, it will add a context menu when you right-click on that ISO file. Select "add to archive" from the menu and you'll see a section marked "Split to volume, bytes." This is above a pulldown menu where you can select CD-R or single-layer DVD-R size. Then you can burn these to individual disks.

The only way to retrieve and use the data is put in back on your HD and combine them.
