Re: joining files together??

if you want to join the avi and the mpg then you will need to convert them both to the same file type. and use a tool such as avijoiner to join them then convert the 1 new file to vob files to burn to dvd. or you can just convert them both to vob files individually and then burn the resulting vob files with nero and selcting them in order.

It depends if you want to watch them on dvd or just join them for your pc.

its to burn them mainly, does the avijoiner convert them to vob files also?and will the vob files be compatible with a standard dvd player(that plays copies)

yes vob files will play on your dvd as that is what most dvds use. Avijoiner wont convert them though. You can use VSO Divxtodvd (the free version) to convert the files to VOB files and then use Nero to burn them.

This will be the easiest way to burn them to dvd.

Re: joining files together??

Or you may try DVDSanta for joining the files, converting them to DVD format and it has a built in burner. Effective and easy to use software.
