Have just gotten a SHW-16H5S so I'm pretty excited about lightscribe and DVD9 which is why I landed here - lookin for tips.

Just learned about the demise of DVD Decrypter so I'm checkin out DVD-Fab Decrypter at the mo.

HI! I'm CD Hart. Red Deer alberta. I'm a heavy duty mechanic. I work at the Ekati diamond mine northeast of Yellowknife in the NWT. I recently purchased an HP 8000 laptop with the Media Center and a TSST L532 burner. I'm trying to record family stuff from my VHS-C camcorder to DVD. I'm a novice at best and need help so I will be asking lots of questions. My first problem is that I have to record the video to my laptop as recorded T.V. and then make a DVD-r. When I play the DVD in my DVD player I have no soundtrack. HELP?

Hi, Thanks for allowing me to join the group. I am pretty much in to many things regarding CD & DVD, however have lots to learn, my latest project is to get my head around defeating the Securom V4.XX and other forms of disc copy protection.
I will need to draw from the wealth of wisdom I am sure I can find through the knowledge of the people in the forum.

Re: Introduce yourself: Say hi !

Being a Newbie half a dozen years ago and well over 40 and still a Newbie I tiotally disagree with those who feel we should find answers to our own questions. When enough people walked and stumbled through the forest a road was built....
I have a guitar school employing 6 players who 'show' the 'newbies' how to play songs of their choice. My 'competition ' is still trying to teach their kids to understand the flyshit on 5 lines system. My kids rock !! Have a nice day. If I can show you a shortcut to anything I know I will gladly do so.

Re: Introduce yourself: Say hi !

what kind of connection are you using to input video ? if just the standard s-video cable is used you will need an additional cable to input the sound.

and my favorite ..
BenQ DW-1640 - awesome recorder (over 1000 burns with 0 coasters)

And I burn Cds with:
Plextor PX-712A (used to be my favorite for DVDs, but the BenQ sent it to the CD computer)

My Internet OS is WinXP sp1 .. I burn DVDs with it also
My CD burning PC is a Win2000Pro sp4 OS
I also have a PC running some type of Win98 that is used to entertain the grandkids ...

What's up everyone.

My Name is Aaron. I'm 24. I live in Michigan. I work at Rent-A-Center...(not the greatest job ever but it pays my bills). I've been copying dvds for about two years now and have over 420 titles on my list. I hope that I might be of much help to someone, although I joined this forum to get some help myself. So, if there is anything you wish to know about me just ask, as long as it is not any FBI or CIA probing questions I'll be glad to answer.
