Thanks for the welcome Damiandimitri. I would definitley do a lot more reading before I tried to flash a CD. I am leaning towards the 40125S because it is cheaper. The only ones I can find are all Z CLV, but all the reviews on them are P CLV and supposedly support Mt. Ranier. Is that just done with a flash of the firmware, or do they have 2 different 40125S models?

I am cheap and will be buying 2 of them (one for my brother) so it would save some us money. I read someplace that you can flash the 40125S to be the same as the 48125W. Is that true?

I will post this elsewhere as this is probably not the right place, but I am in a hurry right now and thought I'd give it a try. Thanks

Hi all, the name is Dan. I have been reading through this site for perhaps a year now, and joined the forums perhaps 6 months later.

Unfortunately, I take more information than I contribute, and ask noobie questions from time to time. CD technology is a disipline within itself, and I have to admit my skills are lacking in this area.

I have an interest in computers as a hobby, and spend too many hours a day using them. I am a gamer, I build computers for myself and friends.

It seems the more you learn about computers, the more you realize that there is so much more to learn. But when it comes to CD technology, I feel there is no better site than this one, there are some very smart people here.

Hopefully, someday I can gain the knowledge to contribute more.

Hi all,

I've been lurking this forum for a while now after stumbling on it while doing some research on Lite-on vs Plex burners... Ended up with both. heh.

Anyway, I'm 28, a radiology resident in Canada. I am married, with a 2 year old son (and another baby on the way), so I don't get to play around on my computer as much as I used to. My son is quickly learning about the computer - since it is where he watches Shrek (DivX) while I read cdfreaks. I must have seen the beginning of that movie about 100 times by now...

Shrek watching system:
P4 1.6A at 2496mhz, 512 MB Samsung DDR333, Plex40/12/40
Litey 32123S and LTD163D for DVDs, Maxtor 7200rpm 20GB, 40GB.

Awesome site, and thanks for listening...

Hello all!!
My nick is twoodie, and I live in the Arizona desert, where it is usually around 110 in the summertime. I build PC's for a hobby and fix them for a living. My wife and I also host a karaoke show, and I like to create custom CD+G's.
Great place ya got here, M8s! I may well visit often, if my job as Admin of another board allows the time...(I think it might )

I all, the name is Raz, I'm 19 years old, work as serveradmin for www.jolt.co.uk
I'm following a ICT education on university (4 years fs!!)
And i dunno why my parents called me raz fs.

I'm mainly a gamer too, tho you can find me on various other sites(gaming) helping my ass off :P

In the rest of my spare time you can find me recording music, cuz i'm a musician, i mainly record rock & metal songs, doing it for 2-3 years now. We, with our band do alot of live performances on youth festivals. We also sended a demo-cd to sony, and they were impressed, and told us that they wanna publish it. So i'm wondering what that will bring And maybe i'll post an mp3 for free , but don't forget to buy my cd when it hits the street then , should be finished in 3weeks. Thoo it will depend when sony wants to publish it on the market, cuz i dunno have a f**kin clue.

Hi all - I have been browsing for a while and this is my first post.

I've appreciated most of the comments made on the threads - especially regarding Neverwinter Nights. It has saved me a lot of grief (and unusable copies!!)

I'll make sure to keep coming back regularly for more news.

Thanks all !!

hi! My name is Dave and I'm a firmware-a-holic. I will most likely be lurking in the firmware and Lite-ON forums, but I may stray elsewhere on occasion. nice to meet you all.

Yo, been into computers for the last 17 or so years, I'm 22, from australia, have been burning various types of cds since the 1x burners, have worked both in and out of the media AND as a programmer/tech for a large financial company (no I'm not giving names). Oh and my first PC was an IBM clone (XT)

I'm considering doing Law next year at university after my career in IT has been cut short with all the instabilities and pressure within the industry. Plus, I prefer the humanity aspect of law in comparison to the mindnumbing tedium of programming (no offense to the programmers out there)

Interests include Aikido, Complex mathematics/calculus, poetry(yeah yeah- if you don't like it don't read it), personal development (in all areas), puzzles of any sort, researching (anything), art (in all forms), chess(recently) and reading.

Hello my name is billy and i am 7 years old. My mommy said its okay to post here since this doesnt look like a site for "pedophiles"....
Seriously, I've been here for a few months, been too lazy to post on this particular thread. Not a big expert on computers, I find the living room to be quite comfy. I am not Dutch as my name suggest neither can I fly. I am 17 and a senior at my high school. Currently my status in school is "student at large" since I hardly ever show up to class. I am the alternate captain of my high school's ice hockey team, the " Stuyvesant FlyingDutchmen"- hence my name, and I also play a mean game of tennis and soccer (football). Find this site to be quite helpful and beats searching google for answers. Respect to the helpful mods/admin here
