Hi all. I'm Alan and I reside not very far from Billious. I am in Cheltenham, UK and have lived there for four years after 30 years living in Cornwall. I am a techie type, but obviously don't know everything. I help people when I can with computer problems. I am now disabled but used to be a systems builder/computer repairman. I hope to be hanging around here quite a bit ![]()

Hi everybody, my name is real name is mark, in case anybody was interested, im a huge computer person. Im 16 years old, i know a lot about a computer for my age, i can get very technical. I like copying cd's, dvd's, etc. because it a challange, and to learn something new. I live in USA, in Portage, Indiana. there's corn all around, and then Chicago. I do not consider my self a pro at anything. I do know things that im very good at, but there is still much out there to learn. I always keep an open mind and try to learn new things. I love anything and everything about computers. My personal goal in life is to learn as much as i can about computers and computer type stuff. I try to help when i can. I just registered to club cd freaks, i've been meaning to for along time, but just didn't get a round to it for anybodys interested in knowing this im also in the process of learning German.

I'm 16 years old, joined because I needed advice on a new cdrw drive. I work for a car bearings company with the network administrator 40 hours per week @7$/hour for the summer. Once school starts up again I'll be a junior in high school and taking a MCSE training course for the year (school offers it for free). Then I'll try to take the 7 MCSE tests next summer. After high school it's off to Purdue college for 4 years majoring in computer networking.. and hopefully with 5 years of experience, some kind of MCSE cert, and a 4 year college degree I'll find a job and get married and all that fun stuff. Other than work I go to parties on the weekends with my friends, fix their computers, go 4 wheelin, usually the designated driver because I'm the only one who doesn't smoke drink or do drugs, swim at my soon-to-be girlfriends lake with her . It's all good.

haha, thanks for the advice.. I do know that something unexpected will come up, just hope I get past whatever it is. Once my junior year is over and I will hopefully have some kinda certification in MCSE, do you think I should go for a Cisco certification also? My school offers a Cisco training course for free as well and I'd like to keep my options open. Even though MCSE seems the way I'd like to go, Cisco sounds interesting to me also, plus I don't have to pay anything for the course or books because my high school pays for all of it. I'd be taking it my senior year, so I have time to decide wether or not I'm going to take the course. Now it's time to go play some football with the friends .

Stumbled upon the fourm looking for a way to burn a mixed cd that had been ripped into seperate MP3 tracks. Found the answers to my questions here, and decided to take a longer look around. I like the place, and occasionally read the board. I don't reply a whole lot, but I've only been a member for a very short time now. As far as myself goes...I've been into computers for about five years now. I've learned everything on my own, having no formal schooling or other training. I eventually want to pursue some sort of computer-related degree to advance my career, but that is sitting on back burner for the time being. I currently work at a university doing tech support for our ethernet and cable systems, as well as any other sort of support anyone would need. I also do side work for anyone who comes up to me and asks. It gives me some nice pocket change. I don't advertise, as I work strictly by word of mouth, but might be something I would like to expand on in the near future. Systems I currently own: Workstation: AMD 1.0Ghz @1.4 (10 X 140), Iwill KK266, using onboard sound, 512MB Crucial PC 133, Geforce 2 TI, 20 Gig IBM 75GXP (Knock on wood it's not one of the failures), Plextor 12/10/32A CD burner, Windows XP Pro Server: Intel PIII 550 @ 700, 512MB Crucial PC 133, TNT2 M64, 40 Gig IBM 75GXP (same as above....I consider myself lucky), Windows 2000 Advanced Server Laptop: Dell Inspiron 7000 (I think. I cannot recall the exact model) w/ PII 366, 256MB PC 100, 8 GB HDD, & crappy ATI Graphics. That's about it. I plan on expanding my network in the future...but...that's after I get married. My fiancee deals with my obsession quite nicely...but we'll see when we're actually living together...heh.

| Hi, I'm a hobbyist and haven't even burned a CD yet. I let my 18 year old son do that stuff for me. He will be off to college this fall so I decided I better start learning some of this stuff. I did a little research and bought a Liteon 24102B when they first came out, but it is in my son's system. I found this site while researching for a new CDRW (for ME) and it looked kewl so I joined. Can anybody point me to a good burner. I was thinking of the Liteon 32123s, 40125S, or the 48125W. I am confused as to whether the 40125S can be flashed to be P CLV instead of Z CLV.

Welcome EZDuzit, i would go for the latest LITE-ON...the 48 If you are new to this you shouldn't start with the flashing firmware. Perhaps you better start with burning first Here some links that will be nice for you; http://club.cdfreaks.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=59 http://club.cdfreaks.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=18 http://club.cdfreaks.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=44 or use the search; http://club.cdfreaks.com/search.php?s= good luck

Hi everybody I am fairly new to the forum and I got the advice from a friend who has been active on this forum for a while now, dansmug, to introduce myself. My name is Goku, I'm twenty years old currently living in Belgium. I am a huge fan of dbz and star wars. My first computer was an apple II, that was about 14 years ago. Luckily I now have some newer models including 2 imacs and a 900 MhZ athlon and that's just about it.
