Rebuild computers from parts donated and give them to family’s who can’t afford to buy one. I have a JG GSA H10L scribe DVD that worked and nor it keeps saying on DVD. Will Read, Has anyone had this problem? tryed all the Oveious things. |

I have been intrigued with decrypting, shrinking and burning my own DVDs, VCDs SVCDs and iPod MPEG-4 files. With so many files, archiving has been an interest and DTeCHs method of shrinking fiels 75% with his own program sounds fascinating (although I don't know how to get a message to him about the program's availability). My latest inquiries are about manipulating tv episodes or scenes, and taking multiple numbers into a playable-disk form. With tv i have been somewhat less concerned about video quality. Thanks in advance for all the tips I know I will find. |

| Re: Introduce yourself: Say hi ! G'day GB & Hutch. Welcome to the forums. @GB - WinXP recognises an many drives as you have Drive letters (A->Z) and certainly detects more than 3 optical drives. I've had 3 optical drives installed, 3xHDD's installed at any point in time -> with two USB optical drives & 1x Portable USB/firewire HDD. Check your hardware -> if it's IDE, check that your jumpers are set correctly, if there is only one device it should be master, and at the end of the IDE cable. Check that the IDE controller has been correctly detected & drivers installed.

| Re: Introduce yourself: Say hi ! Hi, I added myself to find out how I might replace the DVD+RW drive on my Lite-on HDD 760GX recorder. I think it just went permanently south, and it's not really clear what the best ways of replacing it are. I have some old war stories on how to make old Go Video DVDR recordings work with this recorder I could share with you later, but for now I'm kinda in a hurry to get this replaced soon before my PVR (and my HDD fills up). |

I'm having a major issue with my DVD burner drive not reading DVD+RW data discs that I burned in it, and I'm at my wits end as to what to do. I'm sure this isn't the proper thread to pose the question, so I'll do some browsing and will see if there's another place where it might be more appropriate. |
