| Storeman0913 Hi everyone! I'm an oldster retired shopkeeper who is learning how to download video and create dvds i can view at home. i've managed 5 movies so far but am lost in all the various formats and am having a hard time repeating my isolated successes. Hello everyone I am a Canadian Citizen living and working....& paying TAXED...lol , in Michigan for 9 years now.I was a SEMI driver for a number of years until a back injury forced me to change from 18 wheels to 4 wheels. I picked up a computer one day and found this was it for me! I am learning alot by trial and error but thanks to websites like this,with so many people that know about computers sure makes it easier.I just hope I can repay you all with my limited knowledge.  |

No question is a stupid question as it helps to get everyone thinking of a solution. All users may have the same hardware and software setup but that doesn't mean everything from hardware to software will work or configure the same way in the end. |

Just replaced the drive in my old Liteon 5001 and came here looking for help. I replaced my DVD drive with a 1693 and it works fine recording and playing back DVD's but the DVD's won't play back on my Toshiba HD DVD player. Say not DVD format. Still reading lots of stuff on here. Glad to be part of the community. Xpaphil
