| Hi Hi! I have been reading this forum for a while but haven't bothered to post here yet. Anyway, I guess it would be polite to at least greet you all, so, hi ![]() I'm 26 years old. Well, I'm not going to tell you my real name as it doesn't matter much, I'm sure neither of you is ever going to use it. But I can tell you where I'm from (at least there is one more geographical place on this damn rock which will be mentioned in this thread) - it's Estonia. I bet half of you do not have the faintest idea where it is situated (a hint: in Europe ); ) and the other half has heard a lot of urban legends (which are probably very far from truth ) about it.Oh, by the way, if anyone of you knows (or thinks he knows) anything about Estonia then feel free to share your profound knowledge with me (preferably send me a PM or an e-mail, also note where you are from) - there's a little "experiment" I am conducting with some guys in Estonia, namely, we are quite curious what and how much other nations know about us. Nothing more to say, except that I am a bit interested in computers and related stuff (e.g OC) and for that reason I freaquenty visit different forums (incl. this one), but I am actually active in only one phorum - HVF -> www.hinnavaatlus.ee/phorum/ (it's a local one for all the Estonians interested in computers... or having troubles with'em...) - that's why I'm having the nick Bad Sestor@hv here (Bad Sector is my username in HVF, obviously).

| Helloooooooo (Seinfeld voice)! Guess this place SHOULD have been my first official posting stop, but I was so eager to fig out how to get my stupid UT-2 CD backed up, I drove right past ya! Anyhow, I'm 25, just grad'd from OSU in Poly Sci/Business, formerly 3.5yrs of Material Science Engineering (NATIONAL CHAMPS! How?!) and found out a little late that I really love computers and technology, then also found out how crappy I am at math and how most of the jobs out there that require extensive math and other unrelated science courses, don't use hardly any of what you were supposed to memorize!? What a rip... Anyhow, I hope to someday get some funds together to enter GT/GTS class racing (F360's/Prodrive 550's!, GT3 porsches, LMP 675's and what not) and then wake up one day to find out that I've qualified to race at the GREATEST racing specticle in the world; 24 heures du Mans! Nothing like old glory of 250MPH Mulsanne straights and Ferrari Screams! Eh, if i ever win the lotto or something, I could see myself in a used McLaren F1 LM edt... Hell it's even got Wireless Inet and a high speed modem built in, so it's fast and connected... hrmm what else? Figured I had nothing better to do with my comp, so I started reading up on Liquid cooling and OC'ing, and I must say, it's been pretty fun and challenging. I've been liq-cooling for about 4yrs+. Right now I'm running an XP 1600@1.814/181FSB/Stock Vcore and things are a nice .13C/W all from a homemade water block... Ultimately in life I hope to be a financially Affluent and Independent, Race car driver (See M. Schumacer) w/ a "house" in Monaco, and nice 50ft Midnight Lace-Motor Cruiser and a prime time view of the F1 GrandPrix in my home "town." MONACO Wrrreeeeeeeeee-ooooooooooooownnnnnnnnnnn! |

| Hello Hello... I am so glad I found this place--it seems like this will be really helpful to me and my husband. I am going to have to search around and see what I can learn, but I will probably also have some stupid questions at some point, so be forewarned! ![]() |

| Always wonder how people can overlook the special thread that was started for all to say hi, rather than to start a new thread for every individual: http://forum.cdfreaks.com/showthread...&goto=lastpost Perhaps an admin can merge it... Other than that, welcome aboard!

| Hello! I've posted a few times here and stumbled across this thread and decided to be polite and say hi. I would definately consider myself a CD / CD burning newbie. I do have limited experience with computers (I know how to put a computer together), but I still have much to learn. I've already found some useful information here, and I hope that I will be able to make a some contributions to this board. |

| Hello out there! Definitely in the newbie category, I inherited a training video project from a videographer that promotes some teaching that my wife does. Having worked with computers (application programing) since the early seventies I figured 'how hard could it be?' Well it has definitely been an uphill climb so far and I am hoping to find some kindred spirits to share war stories and learn from. My current job is as a technical curriculum developer and technical writer for one of the larger software companies---so I am good at reading cryptic explanations of digital processes and trying to translate into something useable. This project I am involved in was created in DV and I am struggling through the various post production processes now. We live in an area where the local duplication shops probably know less than I do at this point (based on their results). Since my wife teaches in Europe as well as the US, my biggest current challenge is producing PAL VHS tapes. So any input in that area would be welcome. At this point it seems I have managed to fumble my way through DVD production for NTSC and PAL with greater success than the videographer and several duplication shops. Much of it due to sites like this one. So thanks for all the hard work! Vic |
