| i need java, but where from?? Hi people. I need java to run something on the computer but where do i download it from? I went to the java website and now i have got something called java webstart on my desktop, which is like a coffee cup icon. This is an actual programme, though i dont know what it does. Any help would be greatly appreciated.  |

| Re: i need java, but where from?? http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp <- download and install the JRE version 1.5 (if you haven't already). The other versions are only needed if you plan to develope/write java programs. You should now be able to use any java based programs. You can ignore the desktop icon (or even delete it, as it is just a shortcut). I have never had a need to manually launch the java webstart. Hope this helps! |
