Newbie Forum Discuss, I must be missing something at International Chat: General Topics forum; Looks like a great forum with lots of information. I could not however find anything about the problem I am having. I downloaded the latest Platinum version today and installed into my new Vista system. Copied my first DVD, loaded it up and it played perfectly except no voice audio.

I must be missing something

Looks like a great forum with lots of information. I could not however find anything about the problem I am having. I downloaded the latest Platinum version today and installed into my new Vista system. Copied my first DVD, loaded it up and it played perfectly except no voice audio. There is background music but no voice. I am sure I have just missed something but cannot find what it is. I tried two more burns with different settings but had the exact same results. Any suggestions what I might be missing. Thanks - Bob

There is a thread in the DVDFAB Forum concerning Vista, I know that you have to turn something off in Vista but not sure what but there is a thread in the FAB forum where other users had the same problem and found the fix

Re: I must be missing something

The last movie I backed up had the same problem, only played background music and the movie( no voices ) using PowerDVD on the playback. It worked fine on the stand alone player for the TV. I downloaded AVS DVD Player( http://www.snapfiles.com/get/avsdvd.html ) and it works fine . I still don't know why PowerDVD will not work right. But I am using XP and your problem might be a Vista issue.

Re: I must be missing something

I looked for the thread but couldn't find anything. Funny thing is the Copy works fine in my regular DVD player but not with Windows Media. That tells me it has something to do with Vista..just have to figure out what.

Has anyone seen this thread that was mentioned dealing with Vista and audio problems?

Re: I must be missing something

Have you configured your speakers corectly?

On 5.1 Sound system, voice comes from the centre-front speaker only.
If the speaker configuration is not right, you can get no voices

Thanks so much debro, seems like we always look for something complicated when most of the time it is something simple. Re-configured my speakers and it works great. Thanks everyone!
