How to backup morrowind?

Ok I tried the search first but haven't found something that suited my situation. I have Morrowind, Tribunal and Bloodmoon and want to back them up. My CD writer is a Plextor PX-W2410A firmware version 1.03.

I have managed to copy Morrowind (Safediskv2, according to ClonyXL) using the "Safedisk v2.51 (AWS on)" profile i found on this boards for my CloneCD v4.2.0.2. I don't know if it works in every cd/dvd player, but it works in my plextor and thats enough for me. When I tried to copy Tribunal, ClonyXL identified it as SafeDiskv2 too so i used the same profile but the copy failed at about 3%. I downloaded then Betablocker and I patched the weak sectors of the image file. However the writing proccess failed at 3% again. If someone can go in depth on how to do this I would appreciate that, because although I am very interested in computers I don't know a lot about writing to discs, copy protections etc.

And something out of topic. My DVD (Sony DDU-1621) after a 1 1/2 year at my services stoped working. I think I am gonna buy a Pionner 120S. is that a good choice?

thanks a lot

[EDIT] System Specs

Pentium 4 1.8GHz
Gigabyte GA-8ITXE
256MB PC800 RDRAM
Seagate IDE HDD 40GB
SoundBlaster Live Player 5.1
nVidia GeForce 2 MX400 64MB
Windows 2000 Pro SP4 [/EDIT]

I used Alcohol 120% to do all mine, some took ages to do with it being safedisc 2 and having to look at the sector errors, but it came out tip top in the end.

neither of the two ( tribunal or bloodmoon) have any protections on the US versions fo the discs. at least the ones I bought dont.

there is no compelling need to back up the disks since they are not the play disk anyway they are only the install. the game still starts and plays with the original morrowind disk.

For a DVD player the Asus E616 is very good. To reset the amount of region changes left all you have to do is press the play and eject buttons simultaneously on booting the PC.

Clony XXL says that my version (european) of Tribunal is copy protected, however since they aren't the play discs i won't bother. thanks a lot
