Hi,
I've been burning for about 2 months and have read a lot of tips here and gotten better results. That being said I need some help. I currently use Maxell-R and have had sporadic results. I use DVD Decryptor, DVD Shrink, and Nero.

I have 4 dvd players and two on the dvd works (Sony and portable). I have two identical Sansuis and the burns will work on one most of the time if I burn at 8x. It sometimes skips/freezes on all. The second Sansui has a lot of freeze issues. I have defragged and turned off all other apps when burning. I'm just frustrated that the copies aren't perfect and that I get these freezes. The second batch of Maxell I bought seem worse than the first.

Is this a media issue? If so, what is the very best media to get and where?
Also, any other tips are suggested.

Sounds like it could be a media issue, try some Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim, and also try DVD+R if you burner is compatible. If your burner supports DVD+R, I would look into setting the booktype of the burned DVD+Rs to DVD-ROMs.
