Newbie Forum Discuss, Frozen at International Chat: General Topics forum; I am tring to play downloaded movie on my computer, but after about 10-15 minutes watching, computer would freeze. Is it a problem with my memory? My computer is preety fresh, it has 1 Ghz and 128 Mb. Thank you

Frozen

I am tring to play downloaded movie on my computer, but after about 10-15 minutes watching, computer would freeze. Is it a problem with my memory? My computer is preety fresh, it has 1 Ghz and 128 Mb.

perhaps an unstable codec ?

It could be a memory issue 128 is not much theese days are you running WinXP?

Or it may be an unstable player (or as Mr B said unstable codec) or maybe the player dosn't handle errors as it should.

Try updating player and codec if it still freezes try other players.

If it's a DivX file you're talking about, some of the old ones did have freeze problems. There is apatch/codec out called DivX - AntiFreeze or something that could fix this .. do a google search on it
