A File Size Question

I have several movies on my hard drive that vary in size from 600 megs to 800 megs but am unable to able to get any of my copying programs to burn them to disk. I always get the message that the file is too large and I'm using 4.7 gig disks. What gives?

Re: A File Size Question

in nero, are you selecting "dvd" project as opposed to cd project? You seem to have the appropriate hardware.

I'm assuming at this point you just backing them up as data, not to make set top box playable movies right?

Re: A File Size Question

Right then.

what type of files are they? Avi, mpeg? This a lil more complex than drag and drop.

For example, I have a couple of really good rips that are around 720meg divx avi, too big to big on a cdr, but would have to run through a conversion process to burn back to dvd, to play on my set top.

Re: A File Size Question

i think he wants to convert them to playable movies ZZMan, in which case he will need to use NeroVison to make the vobs etc and then burn to dvd, burning a normal video file (ie avi, mpg etc) to a dvd wont make it playable in a dvd player (unless you have a dvd player that supports some video formats) so you will need to convert them to a format that dvd players ubderstand, this is .vobs etc. hope this explains it. ben

Re: A File Size Question

I think his post above mine makes it pretty clear...he wants to make them playable movies bcn.

We need to figure out what tool if any he has, and go from there.
