Hey people

Ive had a modded xbox for about a year now and just today i turned it on and the dashboard has changed. There is now no launch dvd, launch menu, or skins options on my xbox which means i cannot access my games or anything else on my xbox. What does come up is MS Dashboard - which doesnt open, Reboot, power off, settings, backup and flash bios. I was wondering if anyone knew what the problem may be? is my xbox F#!*ed or does this happen from time to time with these things? Any help on fixing this problem would be great.

What exactly does it do? Does it give an error code or anything? Can you take a pic and post it?

Yeah it just comes up in the dahsboard and basically looks like this:
MS Dashboard
Reboot
Power Off
Settings
Backup
Flash Bios

Whereas yesterday it looked like this
Launch DVD
MS Dashboard
Reboot
Power Off
Settings
Backup
Skins
Flash Bios
Launch Menu - which had Applications and games.

I dont understand what could have happened

I thought i could just go into Ms Dashboard and everything would be in there but it doesnt open, the only other thing could be to do with the settings but they havnt been changed the whole time.

what version of evox do you have?

the latest one that was out in december 2004

Check your modchip switch settings, if you have them.
At least you still have FTP support if you need to reinstall evox.
I guarantee your files are still there... in fact, you can most likely ftp to them.

If all else fails, reflash your bios.


Feel free to PM me with this.... I think it happened to me about a year ago.
Can't remember exactly how I fixed it, but I'm sure I can figure it out again.

Well people, this happens when the modchip isn't securely connected to the pins on the print.

is there anything i can do to fix it?

Ya my ebox is doing the same thing. I have a modchip (xenium) and it now it always turns on to the MS Dashboard. i can get the retail kernel which lets me do the normal xbox stuff but when it comes using launch dvd, launch menu, or skins options on my xbox and playing burned games or games i burned on the xbox. IT does'nt work its driving nuts

Happened to me many mant times it is because ya knocked ya xbox and the mod chip have come lose just take ya xbox apart and reconect it....

Switch it back on every thing wil be fine. If ya did not install the mod chip in the first place could be a prob . But then in saying that take a look on good old goo**e and ya will find out how to do it Any touble let me know and i will tell ya were ya can go for help in installing it

i just fixed my xbox i took the cover off then found the chip, the wires were loose and all i needed to do was solder them in again and reload evox with slayers disc peice of cake make sure you use a -R dvd i found that slayers disc has trooubles installing on a plus R
