| DVD wont play in player, but works on pc Hi and thankyou for listening, I have downloaded some films and am struggeling getting them onto disk. I go through gruelling four hour transcode's only to have a dvd that is recognised as a dvd by the player but when i hit play or enter to get the title to play it just freezes There. I tried this yesterday with a file and it did not work so i altered the setting in nero to output the data in PAL as the file mostly contained ntsc i did this in every window and went through the whole process again only to get the same result. Do you know why this is happening? I am using Nero 6 ultra edition with vision express 2, My O.S is XP sp2. Thankyou   |

| Re: DVD wont play in player, but works on pc The most common cause of these type of problems is media related. What media and burner are you using? Can you also post the firmware version of your burner and the exact media code, not just the brand of your media? From the title of the post, I guess you have already confirmed that the created files play okay in your computer. Does the created DVD also play okay on your computer? |

| Re: DVD wont play in player, but works on pc I would assume it needs to be MPEG2 compliant to play on a stand alone computer! Is it? Not all software will do this with out plug-ins! Also you need to set BOOKTYPE ROM or Auto for +R media in Nero. Some DVD players will not play a +R that is not BOOK TYPE ROM coded in nero!

| Re: DVD wont play in player, but works on pc O.K guys sorry about the delay in my responce, I am starting to understand it all a bit better now after some reading. Here I s some info on my setup I am using dvd-r 4.7gb disks I have two writers 1 is a pioneer DVR 109 and The other is a TSST Corp ts h552u I think it's samsung (not Sure) Yes the created dvd also plays on my computor. I have copied dvds with the same disks and they also work on my DVD player. |
