'DVD Video files reallocation failed'

Hello all

Recently brought a DVD player, but once i have ripped the DVD's onto the harddrive using DVD decrypter i try to copy DVD's using Nero express. When files are attempted to be added by Nero express error message pops up saying 'DVD Video files reallocation failed. The resulting DVD Video might be unplayable do you want to continue?'. I have gone ahead and copied the DVD's regardless of the message but surly enough the DVDs are unreadable on the DVD player on the computer and just a standard DVD player, any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Re: 'DVD Video files reallocation failed'

Welcome to the forum...

What mode are you using in DVD Decrypter when you rip? It should be 'IFO' mode to get all the right files across.

Are you sure you are selecting all the ripped files in the Video-TS folder on the HDD for dragging into the Nero window for burning?

Re: 'DVD Video files reallocation failed'

What's the text file? That shouldn't be there...

Do you have the other IFO and BUP files?

The total file types for a single title DVD-Video should look like this (note there are deliberately only three .vobs in this example):

Re: 'DVD Video files reallocation failed'

Please list exactly all the files on the original DVD-Video that you are trying to copy.

Otherwise, if all you want to do is make a straight copy, then change the mode in DVD Decrypter to ISO Read and set it going. Then you can burn the resulting ISO file to a new disc by changing mode to ISO Write, load the file and burn.

Re: 'DVD Video files reallocation failed'

Is your problem in trying to decrypt the movies? Have you given anydvd a try? In my own personal opinion, I believe it's the best decrypter.....and less complicating! You do get a 21 day free trial....and nothing to lose, but alot to gain! Like, getting your movies backed up

Re: 'DVD Video files reallocation failed'

imkidd might have given you the wrong advice for the situation... You want to have DVD Decrypter set to "File" mode in order to get all the files off the DVD. "IFO" mode lets you select certain parts of it which are suitable for later compressing to DivX or re-authoring into a movie-only DVD, not producing a ready to burn, 1:1 copy.

Re: 'DVD Video files reallocation failed'

From time to time it's good for all of us to refresh our memory...

What's on a DVD, different rip modes. (Both old but still valid.)

BTW, looks like TP had a file association problem originally thus BUP file recognized by windoze as a text.

Re: 'DVD Video files reallocation failed'

Overkill, I don't like Nero because it's too complicating for me.....I personally use 1clickdvdcopy .....it's the easiest, and there's a free trial. You will get to try it before you buy it. 3 free burns. They have the best support forum, and it's as easy as 1click. I'm getting close to 1000+ movies using this program. No mess, no hassle, I believe it's one of the top programs.

Doh! Yes I did give the wrong information and thanks for pointing that out. I was on autopilot for DVD Decrypter advice and sorry that it didn't help the situation - 'File mode' is indeed the correct one for copying ...

However ISO read/write should have worked as well (if a simple copy was required).

Re: 'DVD Video files reallocation failed'

Sorry all nothing seems to be working, once files from HDD have been copied on to the blank disk, Copied DVD will not run on the DVD drive or a standard DVD player, if there was'nt enough space it would say so..
