You need a mod chip or swap disc for a PS2 to play a copied game.

My old Voodoo 3 2000 PCI has now retired, still in perfect working order though!

Yup, You need a modchip to play copied games.....Get a modchip and use DVD Decrypter to back up your games-This is what I do, and works well.
