DVD Shrink - Main Movie Only With Menu - Club CDFreaks

Hi, this is my first post

So far I have read that using DVD Shrink to copy only the main movie you can't have the menu as you need to use "Reauthor"

I have managed to overcome this. Here is my method:

1. Rip the DVD to HD
2. Open File and choose the main movie IFO file (usually VTS_01_0.IFO) instead of the title IFO (VIDEO_TS.IFO)
3. Under DVD Shrink - it will only show the Menu and Main Movie without the extras !!
4. Do the usual shrinking and click Backup !!
5. Use DVDFab to construct the new VIDEO_TS
6. Burn the DVD

Is this the correct method? pls advise

BTW, I have just backup the Hulk which is 138 min long with 25% shrink and the result is very good. no noticeable difference from original. I am using ver2.3

Try the 3.0 beta 5 the video quality is better!

A couple of questions. First, have you tried the menu on your burned dvd? Does it work ok?

Also, where do you get DVDFab? Not familiar with that program. I'm new to this stuff, if you can't tell.

The deep analysis mode on the 3.05 beta Shrink will improve your quality if you use any compression. If you don't have to compress, you don't need to run it.

Hi Kerry56,

The menu works ok on stand alone DVD player.

I download DVDFab from Doom9 (www.doom9.org)
