DVD rip without skips?

I use DVDFAB to rip my DVD's onto my HD and then Use Nero to Copy them. even though i use the verify option on nero i noticed once that a copied dvd had a skip in it where the picture turned pixelated. I thought it was just a problem with the dvd but when i went back to check the same frame on the copy on the hard drive i found the skip, and it wasnt on the original DVD. So i guess DVDFAB skipped during the rip or something. I just wondered is there a way of checking the rip compared to the original dvd, or a software that does this as it goes along. thanks

Have you ensured that during the DVD backup coping process that all background Multi Tasking operations are curtailed? Have you ensured that your Hard Drive has been defragmented (Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/Disk Defragmenter) prior to beginning the DVD backup coping process?

To ensure that all background operations are in fact curtailed check that ALL unnecessary programs are not automatically loaded during Window Startup. To check this suggest viewing the below Web Link that details how to use MSCONFIG to configure Windows Startup to load only necessary items. You will be surprised at all the unnecessary Memory and Resource wasting items that are automatically loaded during Windows Startup. Quite possibility you have some unnecessary item automatically loaded during Windows Startup that you are unaware of that could be interfering with the proper operation of your CD/DVD Burning software program that could be causing your problem.

I personally ensure that all possible background Multi Tasking operations are fully curtailed when processing my DVD backup copies. If you are offline, which you should be when processing DVD backup copies, there is no reason to have Anti Virus and FireWall active and running. This is just a waist of unnecessary Memory and Resource and could possibly interfere with the process.

I am unaware of what this “Big Almighty CLICK Sound” sound is but this is unusual and normally Hard Drive do not make this type of sound. Perchance when you were making the subject backup up DVD copy did your computer make this unknown “Big Almighty CLICK Sound”? If so this could account for the corrupt data area in your backup copy.

Suggest when performing a Hard Disk Defragmention to do the Hard Disk Defragmention in the Safe Mode. Defragmenting your computer in the Safe Mode is a more efficient and through manner of performing a Hard Disk Defragmention. If you are unaware of how to initiate your computer in the Safe Mode the below Web Links provide information ->
