| dvd player wont play burned dvd files here is what i use Nero Ultra Edition 6.0 DivxtoDVD i convert to dvd-video file using divxtodvd and then burn with nero express but the files wont play. what it does is i'll put it in the dvd player and it will load, then say play then stop and wont play. ive tried it on other dvd players and it does the same thing. i know the dvds work on my dvd player because i have used them before. the only difference this time is im using alot of .vob files and what not like 60 and 70 .vob files. they are just really small files |

| Re: dvd player wont play burned dvd files Well... Can only guess, not knowing the burner and media brand you use. One option might be to try another media. Second, to use other software for that purpose, namely: DVDSanta.

| Re: dvd player wont play burned dvd files It's quite possible that as the DVD you've produced is not conforming to the standard of 1GB (approx) VOBs that the DVD player refuses to play it. What you might be able to do is use DVD Shrink (or similar) to transcode the multiple VOBs to a more standard size. |

| Re: dvd player wont play burned dvd files Hello Folks, Comments concerning CD / DVD Media Memorex and Maxwell like numerous other retailers do not manufacture any CD and/or DVD Media but purchase CD and/or DVD from a Media Manufacture and put the DVD Media in a package labeled with their Brand Name. These CD and/or DVD Media Manufactures can be located anywhere in world and the quality of the CD and/or DVD Media can range from acceptable to pure out right garbage. Usually if the CD and/or DVD Media in the package states Made In Japan it is considered as acceptable quality Media. If the package states made in any other country other that Made In Japan the particular media is suspect and should be avoided. The only way of knowing the actual true Media Manufacture of any Media is using the MID (Manufacture ID and Media Code) to identify the Manufacture and identify the actual Media to determine the quality of the Media in question. In some instance even the MID (Manufacture ID and Media Code) has proved to be “fake” that was manufactured in some unscrupulous third world countries. There are numerous software utility programs similar to DVD Identifier (http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com), DVD Info (http://www.dvdinfopro.com), and Nero CD-DVD Speed (http://www.cdspeed2000.com/files/NeroCDSpeed_401.zip) capable of providing the MID (Manufacture ID and Media Code) of CD/DVD Media. Suggest visiting the CD Freaks Blank Media Forum (http://club.cdfreaks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=33) and do some research on what DVD Media is of acceptable quality. Best Regards, bjkg |
