This is my first post and yes, I am a NEWBIE!

I have an LG Divx-enabled DVD Player for my TV. I would like to know if it's possible to copy over any amount of divx / avi files to a DVD-RW and watch them without having to 'finalize' the disc. I tried it once with Roxio and the player didn't even recognize the disc.

If it is possible, can someone send me in the right direction?

I don't believe there is any way you can do what you want to do. I think dvd technology says you have to finalize the disc to read it in another player. I don't use dvd-rw but even if you close the disc, you should be able to erase and use it again if thats the problem.

With any RW media finalising only really means that the disk can be read by any other optical device. I'm doing this all the time & reusing the media just as Sikoone suggests.

So finalise the DVD-RW & enjoy your divx films on your standalone player.

I'll try doing exactly that. I never learned the basics of cd/dvd burning.

Is there some faq here that would explain the finalizing and formatting process to me? Mainly with reference to Nero?
