I have warcraft 3 collectors edition, and I've had it ... jeez. When it came out. Years ago. To tell you the short story, the cd is getting old and scratched etc, and I would rather put it in storage/case then continue to use it. I'm a newbie programmer and I know that theoretically I should be able to copy the cd data onto a specified place on my HD, and redirect the pathway the installed game runs off of to the directory of the cd data that I copied onto the HD.

...I was told to google search "wc3 cd image" and "daemon tools." I've ran around and got the general jist, downloaded a few of these "DT" 's. .. But I'm still relatively clueless. Could anyone here guide me through the process or direct me to a FAQ or previous topic where this is covered?
