Couple Questions for a newbie

Hey guys I got a couple questions that I think you guys might know the answer too. I just bought the Sony DVD DVD+- writer last week and was wondering what software you guys recommend. I went out and bought DVD X Copy because I have heard such good things. Also I am trying to dub my vhs tapes and discovered several options. I am wondering which one you guys recommend.

Option 1: Hooking the vcr up to the Dazzle video editor and then into the AT 9600

Option 2: Hooking the VCR directly up to the ATI 9700 all in wonder.

I am looking for the most user friendly way that will allow me to clip certain scenes together on a disk, while adding a menu. Also I have heard many questions regarding firmware. Should I automatically go to sony's site and download their upgrades? Thanks again for all your help.

Hi Mike and welcome to the forum ,

I cannot give you an expert recommendation of this , because i have way too less experience when it comes to recording from vhs streams.

In my setup i use an Aopen Aeolus GeForce4 Ti4200 with ViVo functionality and the included Intervideo WinDVD producer software , works like a charm.

I've heard great things regarding the All In Wonder hardware , it's supposed to include some good software where you can record , edit and merge several videostreams , so i would go for the All In Wonder solution.
