| help me please I need help working out why when i copy a dvd it will not play in my in-car dvd player but it works fine on my stand alone player, however i have used copies on the in-car player. I've tried copying on TDK dvd-r and dvd+r with no luck any help would be great. I use DVD XCOPY XPRESS to copy and i have a NEC 1300A burner. My stand alone player is a LG DV771P and the in-car is a VISCOM 5000A. Thanks!!! |

| Hi burntout, welcome to the forum! So your car DVD player does play other back-ups? Were these DVD-R or DVD+R discs? Do you know which software was used to create these back-ups? Have you tried burning the discs with other software like Nero, or what I prefer, CloneDVD? You can still transcode the DVD's with DVDXCopy but make sure that you don't close DVDXCopy after it wants to start burning since when you close the software, it will also delete the folder with the DVD files. So, what you should do is start the transcoding with DVDXCopy but disable the auto burn option. Now when DVDXCopy wants to start the burning process just leave the software running and burn the files in the DVDXCopy temp folder with other software like Nero or CloneDVD. I hope this helps!

| Hi G@M3FR3@K thanks for your reply Yes it plays other back ups that's what makes it confusing. If i use the GET SYSTEM INFO option in NERO START SMART The only differences between my back ups and the others is that can be seen in the picture i attached. As far as i can tell the format and the region code are fine since the incar will play the original that i make the backup from. So the only other point is under the General heading, the type. I don't know what program is used to make the backups that work. I'll try using another program to burn the disc and let you know how I go. |

| Re: copy of a dvd will not play in my in-car dvd player but works fine on my stand alone Look at the spec pictures you posted, Now the one that works is region ALL, and set for NTSC the one that wont is Region 4 and set to PAL set your back ups as region free or all and change to NTSC. May edit this when I look at picture again. |
