| Re: Computer problems!! It could be a bad power supply but it is hard to find our unless you change it out. If you have xp have you tried system restore back before you started having the problem. Also check the fan on your processor it could have stopped and or be full of dust. |

| Re: Computer problems!! It sounds more like a virus or malware to me. Try running ADAWARE and SPYBOT to clean up your pc. If you are still having problems, run HIJACKTHIS and post the log results here so we can look at it.

| Re: Computer problems!! It does sound like some kind of virus or malware, as a bad power supply would explain your screen freezing, your mouse 'freezing' onscreen, but it doesn't account for something accessing programs, as only a virus or malware can do that. While some viruses will just seriously slow down your computer, others will access programs and others will not let you access any program at all. By the way, if you ever have to reformat because of a virus, the standard 'format' under XP will not get rid of it, because it will not totally erase your HDD. The only way to do this is the get the corresponding HDD tools from your HDD manufacturer, like Data Lifeguard for Western Digital HDDs that will write zeros to the drive and make it like new. The formatting will take the same amount of time as the XP format, but the writing zeros to the drive ensures it is completely erased.
