Re: CD Copy Protection

In a word, No. Unless you have a spare $10,000 to purchase protection of macrovision.

Re: CD Copy Protection

Yeah, what rapid fire said, but i would imagine it would be quite easy to get past with a program like clonecd

Re: CD Copy Protection

You can only protect it by not giving it away, ever!

That would be at least the best method.

Re: CD Copy Protection

this comes up on the forum once or twice a month.

we can sit here and decrypt discs with anything from css to arccos to ripguard that the majot companies throw at us...what makes you think that any protection you can put on a disc is going to do anything?

that being said, the only foolproof way to protect a disc is to damage it just enough so it plays, but the data will not transfer in a copy. and good luck with figuring out where that line is when you take a set of keys to the underside of the disc!

Not at all.

There are a handful of freeware/shareware programs that can be used for copy protection purposes, the best known examples of which are CCD-Lock and TZ Copy Protection. However, practically anyone with even a little knowledge of dealing with copy protections can defeat them with ease. That is really what the members are trying to tell you above.

If you want real protection for your cds then enter into a contract with macrovision (safedisc), sony (securom) or starforce. Of course, that will cost you very serious money. Otherwise, you may as well heed the suggestions above.

I can only endorse what has been said by other members.
Alas it is you who is foolish to come here and ask advice and when you don't get the answer you want to insult the very people who tried to help you!
I assume and hope this is the only time you intend to post here.
