Re: Best program for burning ripped movies onto DVD

Reading between the lines, I take it you need a program that can cut out extras or compress a commercial dvd so that it fits onto a recordable disk. That isn't exactly burning, but both the programs you've mentioned will get you through the whole process.

I rarely use transcoders these days, but when I do, I use DVDShrink and have it output as an ISO. Then burn with Imgburn. Both of these are free programs. But the amount of compression has to be trivial for me to use this process.

I prefer DVDRebuilder, even though it takes considerably more time. Combined with the HC encoder or one of the commercial encoders like CCE or Procoder, it will produce excellent quality. Again, I use ImgBurn to do the actual burning to disk, and if you like, you can set Rebuilder to automatically burn the output to disk with ImgBurn.
