Battlefield 2/2142 & SlySoft/Daemon Tools/Alcohol 120% - Club CDFreaks

OK here's the deal I bought Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 2142. BF2 is CD version, BF2142 is a DVD.

I installed both and I can play 2142 with DVD in the drive. But when I try to start BF2, it says that it detected CD/DVD emulation software, to please disable and try again. I have installed all Slysoft software except Game Jackal, and I have Alcohol 120%. I have made sure all these programs are not running, still no luck.

Do I have to uninstall Alcohol or Slysoft software? I read about YASU and pr0t.st0p but are these safe? I play online and I don't want to get banned, they use PunkBuster to check.

Once I get BF2 working I would like to play without the CD/DVD in the drive. I read about making a mini-image of the BF2 CD, will this work with the BF2142 DVD as well?

use daemon tool na , it works for me....
u can get mini image for bf2 on the net but or u can use the MIR to the make a mini image , i tried the same MIR software for the making the mini image for bf2124, it did not worked.

IF you had those originals you never would have to delal with anything like YASU.
So, do you have those originals or not?

I read a guide on how to make a mini image for BF2 and it said that it doesn't work with CloneCD. I removed CloneCD and CloneDVD and it works now. I will try to make a mini-image later.

Can I make a mini-image of BF2142? It is a DVD and I don't know if it has the same protection, will it work?

You've to use yasu to run the game from a virtual drive so your theory isn't working here

A mini image won't work with bf2142 you've to create a full image of the dvd how this can be done is explained here.

OK how big will the full DVD image be? My hard drive is partitioned to 20 GB so I don't want to waste space. I might just play with the DVD in the drive.

Just like to say same game same prob i just use pr0t.st0p to tell the computer i dont have daemon tools installed and then the game runs fine from the cd drive with no probs at all
