| Avi Conversion issues. Alright, I just got my DVD burner this weekend and am having some trouble. First I tried to use an all in one prgram, I believe it was Sonic MyDvd and none of the DVD's I made with that worked on my DVD player..then I tried DVD Santa 3 out. And this program successfully converts my avi files to DVD format that will play on my DVD player....BUT a good inch and half of the screen is chopped off at the bottom and the top. Which itself is not a HUGE problem...except the stuff I am trying to burn is mostly lecturing..so the lecturers head is off the screen some of the time. A friend of mine had suggested that I use WinAVI converter and burn with Nero 6, but I'm having the same problem. Losing a good portion of the picture to chop. (There is a little pixelation in the picture, but I expected a drop in quality after reading all the forums I've read this weekend.) So is this normal? Is it part of the loss of quality that you guys are talking about? Is there anything I can do to keep the picture whole? |

| Re: Avi Conversion issues. In addition to my previous question, I tried to just put Data on a DVD, around 4 gigs worth. First I tried the drag and drop method, dropping the file in the DVD drive folder. A screen keeps popping up and saying that there is a proble. (It won't say what the problem is.) I tried right clicking the files and adding to burn lists, which opens up Windows Media player and I set the burn to do data, but when I click burn...nothing happens. I have nero, but I'm not sure which DVd option would be just for data, there is a bunch of different choices. Any ideas? |

It will open a window. Select DATA disc, like on the image, and press NEW. When new compilation windows is open, choose files you want to burn, and finally click on the burn button. | |

| Re: Avi Conversion issues. In WinAVI converter choice DVD.Make sure that you know when bee the converted file. When you convert all of the material run Nero/new compilation and clicked dvd-video. In left window you see 2 catalog(Audio_TS and Video_TS) put the converted files from catalog (*.ifo and *.vob and other) into catalog Video_TS and burn. |
