Anyone Know SQL?

I need to create a search in SQL and the search asks for the latest two of a data set which is stored in date form. If anyone could help I would be very grateful. Also Do you know how to search for a part term within an address i.e. search for just part of an address which is all stored in 1 field.
Cheers in advance.

Re: Anyone Know SQL?

Moved this to the Newbie Forum, as it isn't really a Living Room (off-topic chat) thread...

Re: Anyone Know SQL?

Its been a long time since I used it but was it something like
select col1 from table1 order by date1 descending limit 2;

and
select col1 from table1 where address like '%something%something%';
and if there is a ' in the search you need to double or quadruple them.
I think there is something to wildcard match a single character.
