Newbie Forum Discuss, anyone know a program that can... at International Chat: General Topics forum; I'm looking for a program that can capture TV of a TV Tuner Card and allow me to record to a video file like mpeg or AVI. The problem: is the softwares like: WinDVR, PowerVCR and other programs do not allow PAUSING the recording. If anyone know a program

anyone know a program that can...

I'm looking for a program that can capture TV of a TV Tuner Card and allow me to record to a video file like mpeg or AVI. The problem: is the softwares like: WinDVR, PowerVCR and other programs do not allow PAUSING the recording. If anyone know a program that can allow you to pause the recording please tell me thanks in advanced.

It came with The PC. all I wanna know if there is a program that can record capture to video and allow me to pause the recording with out having to stop the video recording in progress

I have WinTV2000, which lets you pause a live TV recording while the recording continues....I also use GB-PVR which I believe lets you pause with an IR blaster remote,or equal and the recording continues....I have the blaster though I don't use it, I'll give it a try and let you know....
BTW, I have the Hauppauge PVR 150 ,so yeah as Harley stated depends on which card you have......

That question can't be answered without knowing which card you have. Many softwares are propriatary, and only work with certain cards, some work with most cards. If you have a Media center pc, they usually only work with certain softwares, and that depends on what card is used.

You may have to do some digging, but we do need that information in order to properly assist you. If you can't figure it out, try running belaric advisor on your pc. It will tell you everything that you have for hardware, software, and drivers on your pc.

I would use VirtualDub...did that last time 6 years ago..........
