| Yuden t02 media - real or fake? ok, i ddi as much searching as i could and i have see many things that say there are alot of fake yuden disc's out there... i have just bought a few OSI branded purple and white topped discs that are for "data and video" and on the lower lright corner have english and japanese characters... from what i can tell these are real yuden's but how can i be sure? last time i tried i could not use kprobe (only have a 3500 here) so what can i use to test the quality of my burn? i burnt a movie at 16x (and bitset it to dvd-rom), this is what dvdinfopro shows me... any suggestions/ideas? | Re: Yuden t02 media - real or fake? Just in case you still don't understand what we're referring. Try to read whatever written on the inner ring of the disc. In principle, an ultimate(?) fake maker may duplicate those letters and numbers. But they are not careful enough to decieve the few people who can understand it. |

| Re: Yuden t02 media - real or fake? Sorry for my late response. It didn't sound like a TY hub #. But I just waited for some experts to give a firm answer about it. My Sony TY Youden000T02 has these 2 pine prints which are readable from the burning side. "TG001133" "0902" (180 degrees apart from the first one, but both prints are readable at one angle) Though I don't have other brands of TY T02, from comment of others, I believe this is the typical format of a T02 disc. (Of course the numbers themselves may differ.) Doesn't the package say where it is made? All genuine TY are made in Japan. |
