A quaranteed high-quality brand?

I have a rather practical request.

I have various friends who don't have time nor the inclination to hang out at forums like these.

However, they'd still like to burn on a highest quality media they can afford.

Now, we all know that resell brand is not a very good estimate of quality. Further, even ATIP codes can fog the situation and the disc can actually come from a worse quality factory and only testing will reveal the truth.

So, my question:

Is there a consumer CD-R brand (not just one model of a certain brand) that always comes from a good quality factory and is of high quality?

And please do not answer with a specific brand/model/atip code. Normal people don't understand those

They want a brand which they can buy and always get quality, even if the actual models of disc vary.

And yes, I'm aware the previous performance is not a guarantee of future winnings so to speak, but that's all we have to go by in a situation like this.

I would have suggested Mitsui (MAM-E) as I haven't found any crap to be sold under their name yet, but it is not available where I live.

Any other suggestions?

regards,
Halcyon

PS The low quality CMC make-believe-Mitsubishi Verbatim discs have already hit our shores, wheares they used to be Mitsubishi all the here. So much for recommending Verbatim.

The Maxells witht he green cover you get at the drug mart. Those are always Taio Yuden and cost about a buck a piece in packs of 5 or 10.

The only trustworthy brand that offers 100% top notch quality is That's CD-R, which is in fact Taiyo Yuden's retail brand. These are quite hard to find wherever you go, so I recommend Fujifilm 48x Spindles or Jewel Case packs to all those in the USA. Also, you can't go wrong with RiDATA CD-R's, they're now always RiTEK phthalocyanine.

I will have to look in to Maxell locally, thanks!

That's is not the same as "That's Write", is it? I have some That's Write discs that are made by Gigastore corporation. They are not bad, but not the TY quality I'm used to seeing. It's a different brand, isn't it?

Any more choices?

well, it's a matter of checking if the box says something about Azo.
If the Verbatim DataLifePlus box has "SuperAzo" logo, then it's made by Mitsubishi.

I thank you for all the recommendations.

Plextor looks like the brand to recommend if they are always TY.

I don't want to give people any "look at the manufacturing country, white cap, color X box, model XYZ" instructions. It's incredible how quickly normal people forget instructions like these, when they are not familiar with the issues.

Plextor is available where I live and although very costly, at least it is seems to be good quality.

Thanks again.

Halcyon

PS My apologies for offtopic content. I'm just really tired of some of attitude in this forum. I think moderators should start to clean it up and teach children some manners. Also, further apologies for feeding the troll, but sometimes people need guidance in order to distinguish right from wrong...
You got your wish, consider it "cleaned up"
