| Re: Maxdata and Iomega I certainly wouldn't be tempted to use any of the above mentioned brands at all. I know Verbatim uses the best quality MCC coded discs, so I don't see any reason to move from them. Also, I find that Verbatim 16x is easy to find. |

- though for some time the Infinity-branded ones were excellent (don't know if this is still the case).

| Re: Maxdata and Iomega I've used MCC004 discs under the Infiniti brand aswell, CMC produced and they were excellent - I haven't used them recently though. I've used Prodisc, Moser Baer and CMC made MCC Verbatim 16x discs, and I have never had a problm with them, although I haven't used them that extensively - I think its 50 from CMC, 25 from Prodisc and 25 from Moser Baer, although I'm not 100% certain. |

I assume the Maxdata discs you're talking about are the ones made by Gigastorage. While they're no doubt more than acceptable discs (through PI / PF testing, longevity and coaster rate), i personally won't buy from Maxdata anymore. I've found 2 cases of Maxdata selling faked MID media, once fake TYG02 which resulted in acceptable initial quality levels, but fast deterioration, which can trick people into believing they're decent quality. And the second occasion was with 50 spindles of Maxdata 8x dvd+r which was faked MCC003. This media was terrible right after being burnt, PI levels around 300 according to Lite-on and Benq tests. As for Iomega 16x dvd-r, it's possibly on my list of media to try out.
