Can't believe you missed out what has to be the best UK media supplier for Customer Service.

http://www.blankdiscshop.co.uk/ AKA SVP. Been around a long time & i've always been happy with the service they give, especially with returning non-working media.

Edited for possible misinterpretations

And don't forget about newegg.com for the US. They don't specialize in media, but they carry RITEKG04's at a good price (it was just $44 today--on sale--for a 50-pack of matted G04's) ... not to mention their legendary reliability

Re. to CDR/DVD media lists

Dear BoSkin
I’m getting ready to order 100 blank CDR’s. Thanks for the list of places to purchase (there were some pretty good prices). My question is both Taiyo Yuden and Ritek say they come in different colors (white, silver, and green). Which of these products in your opinion is best, and if they’re all close I’ll go for the least expensive. You pretty much know what I’m looking for (good quality recording that is unlikely to skip and will last for a while). By the way after reading your posts and others I’ve been recording my CD’s at the lowest possible speed, and recording about 600 to 650 MB’s on a 700MB CD and have been getting better results. Thanks ahead of time You’ve been a lot of help.
God Bless
Uncle Bob

UncleB,

to make a long story short, just order 100 or > blank CDRs made by Taiyo Yuden, the cheapest you can find.

As for colors, it makes no difference whether they black, white, silver or green
as long as this is being refered to the top ( label ) layer.
When it comes to the recording layers, there 3 generally known dyes - Cyanine, Phthalocyanine and AZO.
For more details pls refer to
CDR components & Dye characteristics

Hey BoSkin, nice thread
For the US, you can also add www.shop4tech.com, as they occassionally have some good deals.

Probably the best selection of retail packaged media (1st class stuff), is at www.shopperwiz.com. It's in the US. Prices are fairly reasonable. They are a little crazy when it comes to fraud protection, but as long as you ship to bill address, it goes smooth. Packaging may be overkill...but that's better than the alternative.

I buy Maxell/Verbatim printables from them.

For the UK there's also rambox.co.uk/ Prices are better in places than SVP (who I usually buy from), though I can't comment on the customer service.

This thread rocks!

These sites have the best prices on sleeves and durable cases I've found anywhere.

Thanks!

Re: List of CD/DVD media sites in N. America & U.K.

I was wondering if Spinergy could be added to the list of CD/DVD media sites above. Spinergy is a CD & DVD manufacturer, duplicator, and screen printer that has been in business for over two decades. The company provides numerous eMedia solutions from start to finish and have a customer base that spans across North America. Furthermore, the Spinergy website is very educational for people that do not know everything about the eMedia industry.

Re: List of CD/DVD media sites in N. America & U.K.

I was wondering if you could split up the US/Canada section; most of those
places will not ship to Canada, and we also pay hefty duty fees on such
products - a Canada only section would be more helpful....

This old thread was ressurected with a spam post which has now been deleted.

There's no point in replying to posts that are more than two years old in my opinion, so I'm closing this thread.
