Kprobe crashes with "VUCmd: Pit/Wob Switch..."

Kprobe version 1.1.28
Liteon 451S drive

Just after I installed it, I ran a test on Memorex 48x CD-R and it worked fine, altough the results were a bit weird (C1 total 94, C2 total 108). Then, a couple of days later, it just plain crashes and nothing can save the day, not even CTRL-ALT-DEL, so you have to reboot the machine.

Tried reinstalling many times, didn't help. (BTW, uninstall gave an error: Could not modify the Registry. (#2, Line 3))

What is this crap?

Problem solved!

Kprobe was conflicting with my VirtualCD software, I uninstalled it and Kprobe works again. I wont delete the thread, maybe somebody is having the same problem and this can serve as a little hint.

But I am going to create a new thread because I'm getting really weird results in Kprobe...

This could also be cuased by:

-Any USB storage devices connected.
-Adaptec ASPI layer not being installed.

Kprobe will open and lock the 1st optical drive it sees, in my case it's the primary channel master drive. If anything else is accessing that drive at the time, you get a big crash. If the same drive is usually being used by the other program, you can move it to another position so Kprobe won't open to that drive any more. but mostly you just have to be careful when you open Kprobe. Same is true of some other LiteOn utilities.
You can even run multiple instances of Kprobe as long as you set the 1st instance to a different drive before you open the 2nd instance.
