Newbie here with my first post. I have a Liteon 832s that was starting to fail to write anything successfully after about 1.5 years of using it, so I went and bought a Liteon 1635s. Still found out that I was having pretty bad burns. Ok, it must be the media. Did some searches and found CDFreaks. After reading, searching, downloading and reading some more, I ordered some TY T02s from Supermediastore.com.
As an example, my scans went from the worst:
to my current best of:
I realize these two images aren't 1 to 1 comparisons (they're done on my two different burners and at different write speeds), but they are representative of the type of burn quality differences that I'm seeing between the two media.
Regardless, I now have two burners up-to-date with their firmware (even leveraging the codeguys firmware, where possible), I have the tools to analyze my scan (K-Probe, CD Speed), I know what bitsetting is and I have a ton of new friends on CDFreaks who let me realize that I'm not in this thing alone.
Wooohooo.
