Please note that Ritek USA aka Advanced Media does not sell or distribute any 100 minute CD-R in the USA, but that does not mean that it could not be found in another country or obtained by "special means" as I have detailed here...
The point I tried to raise is the country of origin of these e-blue disc. I said I don't think Ritek in Taiwan still make them, but that doesn't mean that Ritek in China is not making and selling any of their 100 or 90 min CD-R. With their Taiwan production concentrating on newer media types, it is logical for them to move the older CD-R production to their plants in China where there is still a very high demand on CD-R. Visit the Ritek China site www.ritek.com.cn, and you can find that they still offer the 90 min CD-R which is no longer available in the Taiwan site. 100 min CD-R made by Ritek and others are available too in China as reported by the CDbest forum there.

Hey ,Could you fix me the stamper code of one of RItek 100 minutes disc's,please ??

Based on looking arround I do not think that these disc's were made by Ritek.
The stamper doesn't look like any of the RItek 80/90 minutes disc stamper styles.

(I was able to identify the start easilly: CDR99M3A
If you are able to get higher quality pictures (more zoomed in on serial/Less compression/higher output of pixels hopefully all 3. )I probably could read the whole thing.
If I had to guess the serial from the stamper purely based on the pic I would go for:CDR99M3A83 1642P
But really that P and 84 are questionable.

About 99 minutes. I can confirm you that some older (car) players and discmans can not play this type of media fine.

Thanks for the confirmation. All the evidence we collected over here points to the same thing but we could never be sure.

I believe Fornet International has gone under. If I am not mistaken, they were a local company. They used to have a factory here which made blank CDs. Now their website no longer exists. Perhaps this is why e-blue is now getting their CD-R discs from other sources.

AFAIK there is a couple of small Asian manufacturers whose are still manufacturing them (with Plasmon stamper), and at least 1 European manufacturer - Eximpo (Czech republic)

Re: CDFreaks' First Look: eBlue Ultra Extention CD-R 100 Minutes

Does eximpo make (still) these 100 min disc's themselves or are they just doing customizing ? Because I can not find them incase of philips licensing and I see a lot of different codes for there media.

Re: CDFreaks' First Look: eBlue Ultra Extention CD-R 100 Minutes

Hmm looks to be not a ritek disc. Ritek stampers for 99/100 minutes are supposed to be looking something as this RTD99M-00214 SD which is in line with other ritek media.

yes, Eximpo is still producing these 99min discs by themselfs. They didn't have a Philips license because Philips doesn't have registered CD-R patent in Czech republic...

Re: CDFreaks' First Look: eBlue Ultra Extention CD-R 100 Minutes

Hmmm based on my information the Veeza cd-r pattent is a E.U. patent which means that it should be valid for all E.U. countries.
Actually I think the old pattent was allready a E.U. pattent. because of some problems with the E.U. they actually had to change it and come with veeza.
Czech republic is part of E.U. (from 2004) so officially I think they should have that license these days.

Re: CDFreaks' First Look: eBlue Ultra Extention CD-R 100 Minutes

Hi, I am new here.

If these things have been being made for years now, how come they've never come to the USA like the 80 min/700 MB ones did some years ago from the UK? I mean, if you make a product, & it works great, why not market it worldwide? Esp. since anyone can use a CD-R, no matter what country you live in! They re not encoded a special way like professionally released DVD's are to only work in certain regions!

I first heard of these length of CD-R's, when using CD burning progs like Roxio, & it offers the choice of using up to 99 Min CD-R's! Including 90 Mins as well. But this is the 1st I've heard of 100 Min CD-R's! If they can make a disc the same exact size as a CD contain 5&1/2 GB's, why not increase the size of CD-R's? & since they have, why has it not gone gloabl yet?

I'd first heard of CD-R's this size around 2002! 6 years? SO much technologu has advanced SOOO much in that time, why not these? I want to buy tjsde, but to order them from the Orient would cost way more than from England! But, when might they be made avaialable in the USA? I could use CD's like this! I make lots fof my own custom comps of fave bands, & fave songs from my fave bands, & sometimes I need to shave off a few songs, or a short amount of time in Roxio Sound Editor to make them fit. Rather than use one whole more CD just for those few songs! Also, to make MP3CD's for my car, I could fit more albums on there as well! ERRRR!!!! If ANYONE can find any other places that sell them, & it wouldn't cost a fortune in S&H, please let us know! Or at the very least from a reputable co. that would not rip the people
off. Like say Amazon.uk? or the like. I do not know this co. in Japan, or wherever it is, & how honest they are as far as taking my money & running away w/it! Or selling shoddy product!

Re: CDFreaks' First Look: eBlue Ultra Extention CD-R 100 Minutes

100 minute CD-Rs are not able to be written by just any writer. Your writer has to support writing to them.

Then there's also the compatibility problem with players. The data is packed together more so many players have trouble reading them.

Overall, DVD smashes these CD-Rs for capacity and compatibility and even price. That's why they don't even bother, especially since it's not reliable either.

Re: CDFreaks' First Look: eBlue Ultra Extention CD-R 100 Minutes

Ahhh, they don't ship to the USA, unless they have since they made the site, the little picture of what countries they ship to does NOT include the USA!

& DVD's are great yes. But, what car CD player plays DVD audio????? & also, if I wanted to merely make a simple comp CD for my home listening, I don't need one that is 8 hours long! So, a 90-100 min CD-R's would be ideal for this! It is however diff when I make MP3 CD's for the car, I only need to change the CD but once a week or less, depending on how much I drive that week! &, it is perfect for long road trips, like when my gf & I drive from our home in CT., to NJ, & LI, NY to visit her family!

Re: CDFreaks' First Look: eBlue Ultra Extention CD-R 100 Minutes

all that let you 90+ cd-r is to make long last track or 1 large video file per disk..
because there is !only! way to get|play|watch data behind 90min is !stream! it with previous data..
