Blank Media Discuss blank CD media and blank DVD media here. Is cheap DVD media worth the try or should you purchase more expensive blank media?

Burning At Higher speed

HI
I have some 16x rated HP media(mitsui,650mb) that I would like to burn at 24x.
However nero only allows me burn at a max of 16x (doesn't show 24x in dropdown menu)
I am able to burn my 24x HP(TY,700mb) at 24x
My writer is a samsung sw224b
Thnx

I'm guessing, as you did not state this, that your drive uses some sort of "Smart-burn" type feature that sets the max recording speed on the media. In any case, suggest you keep to the posted speed limit to avoid problems.

If your blank CDs are 16x rated, it may not be possible to burn them at a faster speed

Thnx For Ur Replies
I read on the forums that some people burnt even 8x rated cdrs at 24x.
There seem to be posts by many people claiming to burn 24x (TY) media at 40x w/o any errors
I wondered if it would be possible to burn my 16x mitsuis at 24x
BTW My writer uses justlink as the Buffer Underrun Protection

There's no right answer to your question except, "it depends". Depends on your burner , the media, and the speed.
Try it and test it, see for your self.
