wmv to vob - Club CDFreaks

trying to convert a wmv file i have to a video format so i can insert it into dvdshrink. is this possible? is there freeware available to do this? any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks olyteddy, i did do some research b4 asking, i saw that page, just kinda lost on what type of file i need to create in order to load it into dvdshrink.

In order for a VOB to open in DVDShrink it needs to be a DVD compliant VOB, meaning that it needs the IFO & BUP files as well.
So you would need a conversion program that will convert that WMV into DVD files (VOB, IFO, BUP). Programs like 1Click DVDMovie or ConvertXToDVD, to name a couple,

Go to www.videohelp.com/tools enter in wmv to vob and/or wmv to mpeg2, and you will find tools that are free, shareware, and that you can purchase.

ive done that.....all of the proggies that say they are free, are free to try, but leave watermarks in the finished product, was just looking for a totally free program. If its not available then so be it, I like the format and ease of use of a few programs, might just hafta buy one.

tried 1clickdvdmovie as well, the sound produced was horrible and the picture jumpy....so that ones out, lol

FAVC should be able to take .wmv files as input and get you all the way to dvd. It is a free program.

http://favcfavc.googlepages.com/ Make sure to install AviSynth and Net 2.0 if you don't already have them.

Here is a guide for using FAVC

downloaded the program and tried to use it, kept getting fatal errors....ill keep trying though, guess its that obsession thing, lol
