Video Edit Software Discuss, VHS / 8mm to mpeg? at International Chat: Software related forum; Ok i just got hold of someones ATI TV wonder ard and i want to turn a few 8mm tapes and a few VHS onto an authored DVD with menus and credits etc.. Anyone got any good tutorials etc and whats the best program(s) to use?? Cheers.

Well, don't.... buy a ADVC100 ! or when buying a new DV camcorder, buy one that has also a analog video input,
you then can transfer in realtime via the FireWire port
your video material, with almost no loss in quality,
and use a large range of capture software,
I found this (my) solution on www.dvdrhelp.com

Or....go for a Digital8 camcorder ... a better choice in your case,
but be sure that it has also a analog video input.
