Video Edit Software Discuss, VCD on One Disc at International Chat: Software related forum; I have converted a DVD to MPEG. The MPEG file is 1.65 GB (1,780,271,108 bytes). I wish to burn the MPEG to VCD on one 700 MB/80 minute disc. Can anyone tell me how this is possible? Do I need to compress the exsisting MPEG?

VCD on One Disc

I have converted a DVD to MPEG. The MPEG file is 1.65 GB (1,780,271,108 bytes). I wish to burn the MPEG to VCD on one 700 MB/80 minute disc. Can anyone tell me how this is possible? Do I need to compress the exsisting MPEG? Is there a shareware program for doing something like this? The total time of the movie is 93 minutes. I appreciate any direction or links.

Regards,
Dennis

93 minutes with 128 kb/s audio means a video bitrate of 900 bps.
Very low and very bad quality.
In comparison.
A good svcd rip on 2 cd's gets you near dvd qualty at 2200 kb/s

Yeah, but VCD's are much more commonly playable.

Also, 900kbps won't look too bad, considering that it is resized down to less than half the original size.

sure, standard vcd. playing xvcd might be as big a problem as svcd. its more likely the player will read a over standard br vcd than a size-changed one. and changing disc isnt to much work.

i have tried a lot of them "dvdquality vcd on one disc" templates and tweaked a bit my self and never got quality that i liked.
