Trouble converting .ram file to .avi

I downloaded the 7th season of South Park in .ram format and want to burn the episodes to a dvd so I can watch them on my dvd player and give copies to friends.

But when I convert the files from .ram files to .avi I get a one second difference between the visuals and the sound. This doesn't occur at the begining of the South Park episode during show intro but when the actual episode starts. I think it's because of a change in sound quality or format or something of the sorts. I'm using RMconverter to convert the file from .ram to .avi and no matter what codec I use to convert the file, I get the same pause starting at the same point.

Does anyone know how I can fix this pause in visuals/sound track? Would a different program help? I don't care what format I convert the .ram file to, as long as I can burn it to a DVD and be able to play it on my DVD player. So like WMV, AVI, MPEG, it doesn't matter, I just want to get rid of that pause,

Thanks

I would use virtualdub to fix the audio offset in the AVI file. Load your AVI then in the Audio settings, check the Interleaving line. The menu has a spot for setting the audio block displacement. Experimentally adjust this number (it's normally 500 - a half second) by positive or negative numbers to sync the audio to the video. Do remember to set the Video to direct stream copy, too. Then "save as Avi' to a new file name.
