Gee DK: Im not sure if you can do that. If you remove little chunks like ad's something has to glue the pieces back together.

Ok. I need delete last 20 minutes of 60 minutes clip.
Could you advice me software which can do it without re-encoding (without lost quality, because any reencoding decrease quality and take more time).

Re: Trim WMV file without re-encoding

The FREE Windows Media 9 Encoder has besides the encoder a very useful utility tool that will do what you want called Windows Media File Editor. Basically you will mark in the start point then move to where you want the movie to end and mark out then save and index to a new name. All this without re-encoding

Hope this helps

Re: Trim WMV file without re-encoding

I am switching now to this utility. However might anyone have a better suggestion. I have used WM Recorder till now... very basic and subject to error. It is amazingly difficult to find utilities that do this... I must have tested 20 different programs. Most don't even work, let alone splice without loss.
Windows Media File Editor is also not very friendly... Difficult to use the video window to position in and out frames exactly, unlike say VirtualDub for avi.
Thanks for suggestions
