I'm trying to compile an SVCD with menu in
Nero 6. I have prepared my mpeg2 files with DVD2SVCD, these are mainly trailers and favorite scenes of movies. In the days of Nero 5.x, I was able to compile such a SVCD w/o problems. Now with Nero 6, I followed the same way: I first dropped the mpg files in the compilation window and then ticked on Menu. First surprise: "Due to patent license restrictions, mpeg2 encoding, bla bla is not available, get the DVD-Video plugin from Ahead." I guess it needs this, in order to create the menu thumbnails....
Nevertheless, I installed the SVCD retail plugin meant for v5.x, and the menu option is now available. I can right-click on the mpeg, choose properties and select a thumbnail frame from the video. I can even see all thumbnails in the menu preview pages. I saved the project for later burning.
Now I open the project, it imports the files, but as soon as it tries to generate the menu, it complains that "can't find xvid.dll". WTF has vxid to do with mpeg2? Anyway, I click on OK several times and it does create the menu pages. When I try to burn though, it fails producing the menu and aborts. I have XviD installed and I even copied the dll in the Nero folder, but the problem remains.
Any idea, or some other alternative to create an svcd with menu?
