Shrunk files Sync is out after VOB 1 - Club CDFreaks

I copied my home vcr movies to dvd using the dvd recorder. Some I recorded at SP and had 2 hour films. I edit using Womble’s Mpeg DVD which I’m really happy with and Nero 7 Ultra (which I ain’t) to add a menu, chapter and burn.

With the 2 hour SP films I used Mpeg to make 4 hour films which were say 8GB, Shrink to bring them to 4GB and Nero to menu, chapter and burn.

Previewing prior to burning the footage was in sync, when viewing the dvd, after the first VOB file, the sync was out.

I was advised at this forum to use Nero Recode to ‘shrink’ the film. Same story.

What am I doing wrong? Should I abandon Nero and buy a better software? If so, what is a better software?

Abandon Nero completely and use the DVD menu, chapter and authoring facilities of MPEG-VW DVD. Once you have your ~8GB DVD folders on hard disk, then apply DVD Shrink to get it to a single layer DVD size. Finally, burn the output with ImgBurn in build mode.

Well, I've never had an out-of-sync movie using this method.
